Edinboro knew a win over Kutztown and a Bentley loss to Bryant on Saturday would have a great impact on its playoff hopes. And they certainly did.

With Edinboro’s 33-7 win over the Golden Bears and Bentley’s 21-14 loss to Bryant, the Fighting Scots moved up to sixth in the latest NCAA Division II Northeast Region Rankings. Only the top six teams in the final regional poll will earn a spot in the NCAA playoffs.

Shepherd maintained its post at the top of the region rankings. Unbeaten Bloomsburg is second, followed by C.W. Post, West Chester and Edinboro. Bentley fell from sixth to seventh. Bryant remains 10th.

Edinboro concludes its regular season on Saturday at Lock Haven with its third straight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West title on the line.
