Dave Powers is by far the most qualified candidate running for Crawford County Sheriff. Dave was an exceptional police officer with the Meadville city police for more than 22 years and was quickly promoted to a sergeant position. He has spent the past four years as a deputy sheriff and has earned the respect and support of his fellow officers. He has the support and backing of the current sheriff, Nick Hoke, because of his intelligence, leadership and listening skills. Dave understands property owners are taxed to the limit, and the need for fiscal accountability is imperative and will run the sheriff's office accordingly.

Deputy Powers' personal life, like his professional life, has been stellar. He has been married to same woman for the past 30 years, and they have raised a beautiful child. You won't find him bragging about the people he led away from a life of crime. Additionally, he won't talk about how quickly he offers a helping hand to those in need. Dave doesn't need to boast about those things because his level of respect and integrity are self-evident.

It's a shame his opponent and campaign staff have resorted to mudslinging in an attempt to disparage such a qualified, kind and honorable man. Their tactics will fail because Crawford County voters are too smart and won't condone or reward dirty politics, and Dave Powers will be elected the next sheriff of our county.
