VERNON TOWNSHIP — A crash on Smock Bridge sent one woman to the hospital with suspected minor injuries Monday, according to Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department's deputy chief.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:40 p.m. when the woman’s sedan struck the back of a trailer being pulled by a pickup truck that had been disabled in the the left-most of the two westbound lanes.
“The (sedan) came up behind him, didn’t see him stopped, and slammed into the back of him,” Deputy Chief Jesse Berkoben said of the disabled pickup truck.
No other injuries were reported, according to Berkoben.
Vernon Central Volunteer Fire Department, Vernon Township Police Department and Meadville Area Ambulance Service also responded to the scene.
