LINESVILLE — A 72-year-old Springboro man is headed to trial and faces charges that on multiple occasions between June 2016 and June 2017 he committed indecent assault against a girl under his supervision who was 9 and 10 years old at the time.
Howard Lawrence Garlick Sr., 23714 Lake St., Lot 10, waived his preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Rita Marwood on Monday.
Pennsylvania State Police at Meadville allege that Garlick inappropriately touched the girl on multiple occasions at his residence over the period of just more than one year. He was 69 years old when the alleged incidents began and 70 when they allegedly ended.
Garlick faces third-degree felony charges for indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors and unlawful contact with minors — sexual offenses.
Garlick was released on $25,000 unsecured bond. A trial in the case will be scheduled for the June term of criminal court.
