Terrace Street closure

A section of Terrace Street is closed to traffic to allow repairs to several recent openings created by Meadville Area Water Authority and National Fuel Gas Co.

A short section of Terrace Street in front of C&J Industries will remain closed until some time Thursday, according to Meadville Public Works Director Nathan Zieziula.

The street was closed today between Boileau Place and the intersection of Terrace, Randolph and Water streets to allow repairs to several recent street openings created by Meadville Area Water Authority and National Fuel Gas Co., according to Zieziula.

“One of them crossed the street,” Zieziula said, “so the most efficient thing to do was close the street and repair them all at the same time.”

One of the temporary patches was poorly compacted, Zieziula said, and the resulting sinkage made the repairs necessary.

Zieziula estimated that base work for the street repairs would be completed today, with blacktop to follow Thursday. He expected the street to be reopened Thursday.
