Tanya Elaine Heffern, 26, 1196 Petersburg Road, Hadley (Sandy Creek Township), passed away at 8:25 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at White Cliff Nursing Home, Greenville, as the result of injuries that she had sustained in a motor vehicle accident on April 13, 2011, in Salem Township.
Tanya was born Sept. 22, 1985, in Killeen, Texas, a daughter of Daryl E. and Elaine Bates Heffern.
She was a 2004 graduate of Commodore Perry High School and had been employed as a bar tender at Nate’s Bar in Greenwood Township. Tanya will always be remembered for her ability to share a smile and for her caring and compassionate personality.
She is survived by her father and stepmother, Daryl E. and Pamela Heffern of Hadley; her mother, Elaine Bates-Reagle of Hadley; a sister, Jessica Heffern of Hadley; three brothers, Michael Heffern of Hadley, Ross Pears and his wife, Kristina, of Fort Bragg, N.C., and Zachary Pears of Hadley; a very special niece, Rynn Isabella Heffern of Hadley; her maternal grandmother, Marian R. Heffern of Hadley; her paternal grandparents, Harold and Juanita Bates of Minerva, Ohio; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, James B. Heffern.

Funeral service will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Pat Confer, pastor of Sandy Lake Alliance Church, officiating.
The committal service and interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville.
