Two community-minded groups are joining forces to host a Halloween costume-making party for kids that may be unable to afford Halloween costumes.

Thankful Thursdays is partnering with the Center for Family Services Thrift Shop for the event from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church Parish Center.

“We will have a bunch of crafty individuals, several garbage bags full of clothing items from the CFS Thrift Store, lots of glitter and crafty things or whatever, and we will be sewing, creating, and crafting Halloween costumes for whomever may need them!” said John Hartnett of Thankful Thursdays, the group of volunteers that began organizing cleanup efforts around the city earlier this year.

The groups are hoping to help as many kids in need of costumes as possible, Hartnett said.
