GREENVILLE — Friends of Music at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church presents its first concert of the 2018-19 program year at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Sue Garton is a handbell soloist known for her technical skill. Her life’s work is performing and demonstrating the artistry of solo handbells music.

The concert is free and open to the public. An opportunity for a free-will offering will be provided to those who wish to support the concert series.

Dan Schall is in concert at 11 a.m. Sunday at Grace United Methodist Church, 828 N. Main St.

A love offering will be received at the worship service for Dan Schall Ministries, which is a nonprofit organization.

A covered dish dinner in the social hall will follow the worship service, which will be in the sanctuary. The public is invited to both the service and the meal.

Schall lives in Zelienople with his wife Linda. Through his music and testimony, he conveys his love for Jesus Christ and his concern for his fellow man’s eternity. His ministry focuses on encouraging others by sharing God’s love for man.

WEST MEAD TOWNSHIP — A group that crochets plastic bags into mats for homeless people meets every second Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in conference room 118 at New Beginnings Church of God on Leslie Road.

The next meeting is Nov. 8.

The mats will be given to homeless people to sleep on outside. If you can crochet, you can be a blessing. No donations of bags are needed.

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS — A marriage seminar is from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 10 at Cambridge Springs Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 257 Church St.

Organizers say the seminar helps couples to tap into the power of God as they seek God’s purpose and perspective for their marriage. Author and speaker Tony Evans explains how couples bring light and life to their families and communities and offers insights and applications.

A light continental breakfast is offered during registration.

Cost is $5 per person or $10 per couple for those who pre-register. It's $6 and $12 the day of the event.

A 16th annual retreat — this year hosting the National Pilgrim Virgin Statue — is Nov. 10.

Sponsored by the Erie Division of the WAF at St. Mary of Grace Church in Meadville, the retreat includes three talks, a film and Mass. Registration is at 10 a.m., and donation is $13 each or $20 per household.

Retreat master is the spiritual director for The World Apostolate of Fatima, Erie Division, Father Jerry Priscaro. He is the priest in residence for St. Ann Church in Erie. The guest speaker is E. William Sockey III, escort for the PVS.

The retreat will last all day, ending with Mass at 4 p.m.
