BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — The Canadohta Lake Area Business Association Inc. announces its Fourth of July week schedule.

The Fourth of July Canadohta Big Bang Celebration is Friday through July 7.

The Big Blast of Laffs Comedy Show at 7 p.m. Friday at the Bloomfield Township Fire Hall, 22978 Shreve Ridge Road.

CLABA presents its first ever comedy show featuring Meadville’s Lon Wilson presenting his family friendly humor. Tickets are $10 per person and may be bought at Runners Miniature Golf on Lake Road or at the door.

Doors open at 7. The show starts at 7:30. Take your own alcohol. Snacks and mixers are available for purchase from the fire department. Proceeds benefit the Bloomfield Township Volunteer Fire Department.

A bike, golf cart and pet parade is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Elmwood Beach(Free Beach). Registration starts at 10:30, and the parade starts at 11 at Elmwood Beach and ends at the Frog Pond. This event is sponsored by the Bloomfield Township Recreation Board and CLABA.

Decorate your bike or cart in patriotic decor and follow the critter camp and neighbor's pet parade. All pets must be contained on a leash or harness or a kennel and have current vaccinations.

Community yard sales are 8 a.m. Saturday through 5 p.m. July 8 all around the lake and Bloomfield Township.

A traditional Fourth of July celebration with boating, a family picnic, swimming and more is from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday.

The third annual Firecracker 5K & 10K Run/Walk at 8:30 a.m. July 7. The race starts and ends at the Canadohta Roller Rink, 36046 Lake Road. The cost of registration is $20 until race day. Pay an extra $15 and you get a T-shirt. Registration is available online at runsignup.com/Race/PA/UnionCity/CanadohtaLakeFirecracker5k10k.

A boat parade at 2 p.m. July 7 on Canadohta Lake. The theme is "Hometown Heroes Our Veterans, Armed Forces, Fire, Police and EMTs." The Bloomfield Township Volunteer Fire Department will lead with its rescue boat as this year's grand marshal.

Prizes will be awarded for best boats. Boaters should meet at middle of lake and go close to the shoreline for at least four rounds. The judge's boat will assign a number to each boat, so see them first.

Fireworks are scheduled for 10 p.m. July 7 over the lake. A rain date is scheduled for July 8. Organizers say the fireworks display lasts more than 25 minutes.
