Crawford County President Judge Anthony Vardaro has announced he plans to retire early next year.
"As I have entered my 28th year as a judge of this county, after much thought I have decided that this will be my last year of service,” Vardaro said this afternoon.
"I have very much enjoyed serving the citizens of Crawford County and I thank the voters for giving me the opportunity to do so," he said. "It is now time for me to move on to the next chapter of my life and to give someone else the opportunity to serve our county."
Vardaro, who turns 65 in April, said he plans to devote more time to his family.
