Meadville Medical Center is taking applications for the COVID-19 vaccine via its website.
According to the site, those "who believe they were missed in Phase 1A are eligible to submit a request. This includes healthcare providers, front line and critical workers, and educators. Due to a very high number of requests we may not be able to respond to every inquiry. Thank you for your patience."
The application also notes "You are submitting a request for a COVID-19 vaccination, and due to a very high number of inquiries you may not be contacted for up to one week if you are eligible. Your patience is greatly appreciated."
The vaccination request form has been on Meadville Medical Center's website since Dec 31, Don Rhoten, the hospital's vice president of consumer engagement, said Wednesday.
"MMC and TAH (Titusville Area Hospital) have both received additional doses and continue to advance through the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s vaccination distribution plan," Rhoten said in an email to the Tribune.
Meadville Medical Center and Titusville Area Hospital each received 975 doses of the two-shot Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in December. Meadville Medical Center subsequently received additional doses and has received 3,900 so far, Rhoten said.
