Betty Jane English, 61, resident of 144 Walker Drive, Meadville, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at Meadville Medical Center after an extended illness.

Born in Meadville Sept. 21, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Lindsey George Ruhl and Marian Miklovic Ruhl.

Residing in Meadville for the past six years, she lived most of her adult life in Venango. Following her marriage to William Labonowski, she married Joseph English, who preceded her in death. A graduate of Cambridge Springs High School in 1964, she became a homemaker.

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, along with cooking, baking and making homemade pizzas. Her favorite time of year was fall. She enjoyed going for rides and looking at the leaves. She also did independent Bible studies at home.

Very fond of her children and especially her seven grandchildren, Betty is survived by three sons, Jeffrey Labonowski and his wife, Tina, of Meadville, Bryan Labonowski and his wife, Stephanie, of Conneaut Lake, and Joseph Labonowski of Saegertown. Surviving grandchildren include Jeffrey Labonowski Jr. of Saegertown, Brandon Derby, Emmaley Derby, Kimberly Labonowski and Lacey Labonowski, all of Meadville, and Kaitlyn and Brett Labonowski of Conneaut Lake. Also surviving is a brother, Lindsey Dean Ruhl of Cambridge Springs.

No visitation will be held.

Private memorial services will be conducted at a later date.
