Magisterial District Judge

-Enza M. Swantek, 19, of Centerville, waived her right to a preliminary hearing May 10 before Magisterial District Judge William Chisholm on a Meadville City Police Department charge of one count of endangering the welfare of a child for an incident April 13 and was released on her own recognizance.

Saegertown Area

Magisterial District Judge

-Craig M. Dobson, 32, of Cambridge Springs, was arraigned May 7 before Magisterial District Judge Lincoln Zilhaver on Cambridge Springs Police Department charges of one count each of burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property for an incident Feb. 13 and was committed to Crawford County jail, Saegertown, in lieu of $25,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 17.

-David D. Daniels, 43, of Venango, was bound over to the next term of court May 8 on Pennsylvania State Police at Meadville charges of two counts of driving under the influence and eight summary traffic offenses for an incident March 30 and was released on his own recognizance.

Titusville Area

Magisterial District Judge

-Elisha M. Smith, 22, of Union City, waived her right to a preliminary hearing May 8 before Magisterial District Judge Amy Nicols on Titusville Police Department charges of two counts of driving under the influence for an incident April 1 and was released on her own recognizance.

-Cory F. Abrams, 36, of Titusville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing May 9 on Pennsylvania State Police at Corry charges of one count of driving under the influence and one summary traffic offense for an incident March 13 and was released on his own recognizance.

Vernon Township Area

Magisterial District Judge

-Stephanie L. Covell, no age listed, of Cochranton, waived her right to a preliminary hearing May 8 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Rossi on Pennsylvania State Police at Meadville charges of one count each of possession of a controlled substance and theft by unlawful taking for an incident March 5 and was released on her own recognizance.

-Charity A. Covell, 24, of Cochranton, waived her right to a preliminary hearing May 8 on state police at Meadville charges of one count each of identity theft, access device fraud and theft by unlawful taking for an incident Feb. 21 and was released on her own recognizance.

-Beronica M. Vincent, 44, of Meadville, was bound over to the next term of court May 9 on a Vernon Township Police Department charge of one count of theft of property lost, mislaid or delivered by mistake for an incident April 2 and was released on her own recognizance.

-Codi A. Smock, 18, of Meadville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing May 10 on Cochranton Police Department charges of one count of possession of a controlled substance and two counts each of use/possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy for an incident Dec. 23, 2011 and was released on his own recognizance.

-John P. Shaw, 44, of Harmonsburg, waived his right to a preliminary hearing May 10 on state police charges of two counts of driving under the influence and two summary traffic offenses for an incident March 19 and was released on his own recognizance.

Crashes

State Police

-Branden M. Peters, 20, of Cambridge Springs, was driving north on Route 86 in Woodcock Township at 3:30 a.m. May 7 when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to travel off the road and strike an embankment and brush and trees. Peters was wearing a seatbelt and was privately transported to Meadville Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries. The vehicle sustained hgeavy damage and was towed from the scene.

-Harold Eugene Kline Jr., 44, of Meadville, was driving north on Mercer Pike just south of Barber Road in Union Township at 4:50 p.m. May 5 when he lost control of his vehicle causing it to travel off the roadway and into a ditch. Kline was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. Charges are pending.

Crimes

State Police

-Someone attempted to strip siding from a house trailer at a West Mifflin man’s Three Bridges Road, Athens Township property sometime between 12:01 and 8 a.m. May 5. An investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at Corry at (814) 663-2043.

-Someone entered a Canadohta Lake man’s vehicle and stole 96 Xanax pills and $400 in cash sometime between 4 p.m. May 2 and 6 p.m. May 6. An investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at Corry at (814) 663-2043.

-Disorderly conduct charges are pending against a 44-year-old Spartansburg man after he allegedy drove past a woman’s Byler Road, Sparta Township residence numerous times while activating a siren around 1 p.m. May 5.

n Someone threw a tree branch from the Maplewood Road overpass in Cussewago Township sometime between 12:30 and 12:55 a.m. May 6 and struck a vehicle traveling south on Interstate 79 causing damage to the hood.

-Someone removed an 8-foot John Deere disk sometime between April 23 and May 2 from a wooded area on the east side of State Route 8 in Rome Township.

-Someone took four copper grounding plates and copper grounding wire from a remote Verizon tower site on Spring Creek Road, Oil Creek Township, sometime between April 4 and April 26.

-Someone threw an unknown object through the rear hatch window of a Dodge Durango parked at a Centerville location sometime between 5 and 6:15 p.m. May 3 causing $300 worth of damage to the window. The actor then fled the scene.
