Magisterial District Judge

-Donald M. Burchfield, 50, of Conneaut Lake, was arraigned April 16 before Magisterial District Judge Rita J. Marwood on Conneaut Lake Regional Police Department charges of one count each of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, possession of a controlled substance, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of a small amount of a controlled substance for an incident May 29, 2011 and was released on $10,000 unsecured bond.

-William G. Trgovic II, 22, of New Castle, waived his right to a preliminary hearing April 16 on Pennsylvania State Police at Meadville charges of one count each of possession of a controlled substance, use/possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct; two counts of simple assault; and six non-traffic summary offenses for an incident Feb. 3 and was released on $5,000 bond.

-Valerie M. Owen, 31, of Hermitage, waived her right to a preliminary hearing April 17 on state police at Meadville charges of driving under the influence and six summary traffic offenses for an incident March 14 and was released on her own recognizance.

-Kenneth L. Sarcinella, 42, of Meadville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing April 17 on state police at Meadville charges of two counts of driving under the influence and two summary traffic offenses for an incident March 9 and was released on his own recognizance.

-Daniel E. Williams, 28, of Meadville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing April 19 on Vernon Township Police Department charges of two counts of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver and one count each of criminal use of a communications facility and possession of a controlled substance for an incident Dec. 30, 2010 and was released on $10,000 unsecured bond.

-Michael S. Richardson, 40, of Conneaut Lake, was arraigned April 19 on Conneaut Lake Regional police charges of two counts of simple assault and one count each of aggravated assault, make repairs/sell/etc. offensive weapons and harassment for an incident April 16 and was committed to Crawford County jail, Saegertown, in lieu of $25,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 30.

Meadville Area

Magisterial District Judge

-George D. Wright III, 28, of Meadville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing April 19 before Magisterial District Judge William D. Chisholm on Meadville City Police Department charges of one count each of resisting arrest, retail theft, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief for an incident April 6 and was released on nonmonetary bond with conditions.

-Joshua L. Klingensmith, 22, of Meadville, was bound over to the next term of court April 19 on Meadville police charges of one count each of theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property for an incident Feb. 10 and was recommitted to Crawford County jail, Saegertown, in lieu of $25,000 bond.

Saegertown Area

Magisterial District Judge

-Curtis M. Yoder, 23, of Cambridge Springs, waived his right to a preliminary hearing April 18 before Saegertown Magisterial District Judge Lincoln S. Zilhaver on Pennsylvania State Police at Meadville charges of two counts of driving under the influence and six summary traffic offenses for an incident March 24 and was released on his own recognizance.

Titusville Area

Magisterial District Judge

-Jeffrey A. Weisman, 22, of Titusville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing April 16 before Magisterial District Judge Amy L. Nicols on Titusville City Police Department charges of one count each of simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment for an incident April 4 and was released on $5,000 unsecured bond.

-Kevin R. Burrows, 34, of Titusville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing April 16 on Titusville police charges of two counts of driving under the influence and one summary traffic offense for an incident March 17 and was released on his own recognizance.

-Richard R. Elslager, 26, of Titusville, was bound over to the next term of court in absentia April 18 on Titusville police charges of one count each of use/possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana for an incident Oct. 23, 2011.

-Jeffrey R. Wright, 24, of Centerville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing April 19 on Pennsylvania State Police at Corry charges of two counts of driving under the influence and four summary traffic offenses for an incident March 24 and was released on his own recognizance.

-James J. Melhuish, 61, of Franklin, waived his right to a preliminary hearing April 19 on state police at Corry charges of two counts of driving under the influence and three summary traffic offenses for an incident Feb. 18 and was released on his own recognizance.

-Holly R. Kinnear, 28, of Titusville, waived her right to a preliminary hearing April 19 on a state police at Corry charge of one count of retail theft for an incident Dec. 4, 2011 and was released on her own recognizance.

Crashes

State Police

-Shawn M. Leonhart, 32, of Townville, was driving east on Mystic Park Road in Oil Creek Township at 4:25 p.m. April 14 when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to travel off the road, strike a group of trees and roll over onto its roof. Leonhart was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Hydetown Volunteer Fire Department assisted.

-Lawrence T. Potter, 39, of Meadville, was driving north on Interstate 79 in Lake Township, Mercer County at 1:17 p.m. April 14 when a turkey flew into his vehicle’s path and struck and shattered the vehicle’s windshield. Potter was able to bring the vehicle to a controlled stop. He was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

n William D. Shoup Jr., 20, of Conneautville, was driving on Harmonsburg Road in Summit Township at 3:15 a.m. April 15 when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to travel off the road and strike a sign then travel into a field, strike a culvert and roll over. Shoup was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained moderate injuries; he was treated at Meadville Medical Center. His passenger, Brandon J. Irwin, 18, of Meadville, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, sustaining moderate injuries; he was treated at Meadville Medical Center and subsequently at UPMC - Hamot Medical Center in Erie. The vehicle sustained severe damage.

Crimes

State Police

-Someone stole a homemade log splitter from a LeBoeuf Trail Road, Troy Township location sometime between 4 p.m. April 8 and 8 p.m. April 11. An investigation continues. Anyone with information regarding the theft is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police at Corry at 814-663-2043.

-Someone stole property including a wood stove and other metal items and damaged a trailer and vehicles at a Mystic Park Road, Steuben Township location sometime April 13.

-Someone removed a homemade log splitter from a residence on Leboeuf Trail Road, Troy Township, sometime between 4 p.m. April 8 and 8 p.m. April 11. Anyone with information is asked to call State Police in Corry at (814) 663-2043.
