Approximately 150 walkers participated in Saturday's AIDS Awareness wak at Allegheny College.
RICHARD SAYER/Meadville Tribune

Published April 12, 2008 07:37 pm - “Of the 40,000 new cases of AIDS in the United States each year, half are from people under the age of 25,” said Joe Dichristina following the hour-long walk around Allegheny College. “The event (Saturday) is a reminder to students that they have a responsibility to carry out the message about the epidemic.”
DiChristina, who is the dean of student affairs at Allegheny College, was one of about 150 walkers who hiked throughout the campus in an event that brings to close a year-long campaign to raise awareness of AIDS in the community.
