Also putting the finishing touches on the 2013 football season was former Meadville standout Tyler Banks.
Banks, a senior at Westminster, completed his career as a Titan in Saturday’s win by running for 30 yards and adding another 26 stripes receiving. For the season, Banks ran for 442 yards and five touchdowns while catching 27 passes for 151 yards.
Edinboro junior wrestler Kasey Burnett-Davis was impressive during the Fighting Scots’ 23-14 loss to Virginia Tech on Saturday.
The 2010 MASH graduate took the mat at 157 pounds, opposing Chad Strube. Burnett-Davis dominated from the opening whistle, registering four takedowns and a pair of near-fall points to post an 11-1 major decision. Burnett-Davis improved to 4-2 on the year.
Burnett-Davis’ longtime teammate and fellow 2010 MASH graduate Shelton Mack also saw his hand raised over the weekend.
A senior at the University of Pittsburgh, Mack and his teammates took on Lock Haven on Friday. Mack, wrestling at 133 pounds, picked up a solid 10-4 decision over the Bald Eagles’ Matt Bryer, who himself is a 2012 Cochranton Junior-Senior High School grad.
