UNION CITY —
The Meadville girls golf team secured three of the four available spots in the District 10 Class AAA championship tournament after a strong showing at the D-10 qualifier held at Union City Country Club on Tuesday.
Meanwhile in Class AA, Union City claimed two out of the four spots on its home course.
For Meadville, Felicia Krasa had the low round in Class AAA with a 51. Abby Moore fired a 52 and Michaela Persichini scored a 55.
All three will now move on to the District 10 individual championship tournament, which takes place Tuesday at Riverside Golf Course in Cambridge Springs. They will join teammates Lacey Latta and Kailey Malady, who were automatic qualifiers thanks to a low stroke average during the regular season.
Warren’s Libby Hammond also qualified in Triple-A.
In the Class AA qualifier, Iroquois’ Ashley Benovic had the lowest round of the day with a 49. She was followed by Union City’s Michaela Krause and Tori Migliaccio who both scored 52. Mercyhurst Prep’s Sierra First was the final D-10 qualifier with a 53.
