The low woman wasn’t Lang.
Shooting a career-best 80, Cindi Pringle — breaking out a new driver — grabbed low medalist honors. She shot a 40 on both the front and back nines.
“I hit some nice drives and I three-putted a lot,” she said. “Mainly, I was consistent. I am going to break 80 one of these days.”
Crawford Cup debut
Meadville High School’s promising freshman golfer Lilly Gunn competed in the event and her fellow competitors were impressed with her skills.
“Oh, she can play,” said Maria Price. “She is only 15 years old and she has a bright, bright future. She has a wonderful swing. She is getting fitted for clubs this week.”
Gunn shot rounds of 56 and 54 for a 110.
“You could tell she was nervous,” said Price.
The second round of the Crawford Cup will be held Aug. 3 at Whispering Pines Golf Course and the third round will be held Sept. 7 at the Country Club.
Will the Country Club dominate again? Time will tell.
