Can Don Granda Jr. reach 100? That is the question circulating through the local bowling waves as Granda Jr. once again demonstrated his greatness with two 300 games in a six-day span at Lakeside Lanes.
On Dec. 4, Granda Jr. — aka Mr. 300 — rolled games of 300, 280 and 211 for a 791 in the Wednesday Nighters League.
Then, last Monday in the Stewart’s Classic League at LL, the left-handed legend opened again with a perfect game and followed with two 235 games for a 770.
The amazing Granda Jr. now has 81 career 300 games. Is the magical number 100 in his mind?
“Yeah,” he said. “When I bowled my 60th 300 game about five years ago, I began thinking about 100 and I set that as my goal.”
At age 42, Granda Jr. definitely has a shot at 100 perfectos. In his previous dominating years, Granda Jr. averaged about five 300 games per year. During one year, the Lakeside Lanes co-proprietor tossed seven gems.
As for 800 career series, Granda Jr. has 68.
Numbers never lie: Granda Jr. is the greatest ever in WCCBA history.
Duane Heim had his hooking ball working in recent weeks at Plaza Lanes.

The rising Benge is averaging a scorching 226 in the Commercial League.
Making a strong case to dethrone the Hanks (Harry and Natalie) as the top husband-and-wife duo, Josh and Stacey Dodson were in their typical dominating fashion last week.
