District 10 sets field for team duals

MEADVILLE — The field has been set for the District 10 Class AAA and AA team wrestling championships.

On Wednesday, Central Tech High School will play host to the Class AAA team duals. No. 4 seed Meadville (9-3) meets No. 1 McDowell (7-1) and No. 3 General McLane (8-3) faces No. 2 Cathedral Prep (9-3) in the semifinals at 5 p.m. The winners meet for the District 10 crown and a berth to the state tournament at 7 p.m.

The eight-team District 10 Class AA team championships are Feb. 1 at Sharon High School. Action begins with the quarterfinal round at 9 a.m. No. 1 Reynolds (17-2) meets No. 8 Youngsville (8-5) and No. 4 Saegertown (9-3) takes on No. 5 Cambridge Springs (10-4). At 11 a.m., No. 3 Greenville (18-3) faces No. 7 Franklin (7-2) and No. 2 Fort LeBoeuf (8-2) meets No. 6 Cochranton (9-4) in quarterfinal action.

The semifinals are slated for 3 p.m. with the finals and consolation finals to follow at 5 p.m. The champion earns an automatic berth to the state tournament. The runner-up will host the WPIAL third seed and the third place team will travel to face the District 9 runner-up for a spot in the state tournament on Feb. 3.

Reynolds-Youngsville winner vs. Saegertown-Cambridge Springs winner — 3 p.m.

Greenville-Franklin winner vs. Fort LeBoeuf-Cochranton winner — 3 p.m.

Consolation final

Semifinal losers — 5 p.m.

Final

Semifinal winners — 5 p.m.
