RiverRats pull Folmar back into game By Pete ChiodoPlus, he spent 2006 as head coach with the Raleigh (N.C.) Rebels and then followed that up with his stint in Johnstown.
“Steve has a lot of experience,” said RiverRats vice president and general manager Jeff Moran. “Indoor football is a different kind of game. (We wanted) somebody who had the potential to recruit. We were looking for somebody with experience.” The RiverRats job will have Folmar coaching as close to home as he’s ever been. “That was one of the big factors,” he said. “I also had to make sure organization was stable. I coached for two failing franchises, and that was very hard; not knowing if you were going to get a paycheck, where you were sleeping. “But once I realized Erie was a good franchise it was a no-brainer.
