State Police

-An unknown driver side-swiped two vehicles parked in front of a residence while traveling on Main Street in Spartansburg at 9:51 p.m. Aug. 12, according to state police. The parked vehicles reportedly suffered minor damage. The driver, believed to have driven a black Chevrolet pickup truck, continued traveling, police said.

-Benjamin R. Galmish, 29, of Centerville, was traveling north on Station Road in Steuben Township when he lost control of his vehicle due to excessive speed on a gravel road at 7:05 p.m. Aug. 8, according to state police. His vehicle reportedly left the roadway and struck a tree before coming to rest. Galmish was taken to Titusville hospital for moderate injuries, police said.


State Police

-Pennsylvania State Police reported a burglary on East Freemont Street in Townville between 8 p.m. Aug. 9 and 5 a.m. Aug. 10. One or more unknown suspects reportedly broke into Hanna’s Grocery and stole multiple packs of cigarettes before fleeing the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police, Corry barracks at (814) 663-2043.

n Michael J. Rearick, 27, of Meadville, was accused of giving false reports to law enforcement for an alleged incident on Saeger Lane in Vernon Township at 3 a.m. Aug. 11, according to state police. Rearick reportedly told police someone cut his hand with his own pocket knife and signed a written statement with intent to implicate another person in a crime police said did not occur.

-Pennsylvania State Police reported a theft on Route 86 in Woodcock Township at 5:30 a.m. Aug. 10. A female suspect reportedly removed several prescription pills from a residence.

-Pennsylvania State Police reported a theft on Route 198 in Randolph Township at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 12. One or more unknown suspects reportedly stole a steel chainsaw and weed eater from a resident’s car port. Police believe at least one suspect departed the scene traveling west on Route 198 toward Blooming Valley in an older model black truck with a regular bed. Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police, Meadville barracks at 332-6911.
