MEADVILLE — Crimes

State Police

-Pennsylvania State Police reported a theft on Route 6 in Summit Township at unknown times between Oct. 7 and 12. One or more unknown suspects reportedly took a Sears power washer and a red and white 1979 Honda Express motorcycle from a property.

-Pennsylvania State Police reported a theft on Route 6 in Conneaut Township between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 11 and noon Oct. 12. One or more unknown suspects reportedly took a children’s Huffy Powerwheels bike from a property.

-Pennsylvania State Police reported a retail theft on Hydetown Road in Oil Creek Township at 3:49 p.m. Oct. 7. An unknown male suspect reportedly stole surveillance cameras from Wal-Mart and fled the scene in an unknown direction. Anyone with information is asked to call state police, Corry barracks at (814) 663-2043.

-Pennsylvania State Police reported a case of criminal mischief on Old Route 8 in Oil Creek Township at 9:10 p.m. Oct. 10. An unknown suspect reportedly drove around a yard numerous times, causing extensive damage before fleeing the scene. Police described the suspect’s vehicle as a dark tan Chevrolet pickup truck with an extended cab. Anyone with information is asked to call state police, Corry barracks at (814) 663-2043.

Crashes

State Police

-Mark D. Frank, 27, of Monroeville, was traveling north on Route 8 in Bloomfield Township when he struck a bear that entered the roadway at 6:32 p.m. Oct. 11, according to state police. No injuries were reported. The vehicle reportedly sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. The bear was killed during the crash, police said.

-Shawn Lee Danner, 41, of Pittsburgh, was traveling north on Interstate 79 in Vernon Township when his vehicle left the roadway at 12:50 a.m. Oct. 13, according to state police. The vehicle reportedly struck three road signs, a guard rail and a concrete bridge pillar. Passenger Brian Hooper, of Pittsburgh, was transported to UPMC Hamot for moderate injuries, police said.
