MEADVILLE — Crimes

State Police

-Pennsylvania State Police reported a motor vehicle theft at Asbury Manor West in Meadville between 4 p.m. Sept. 20 and 4 p.m. Sept. 21. An unidentified suspect reportedly removed an ATV from a detached shed without the owner’s permission.

Crashes

State Police

-Jeffrey K. Finch, 49, of Townville, was traveling north on Fauncetown Road in Troy Township when he crossed the center line and struck a vehicle parked on the shoulder at 9 p.m. Sept. 20, according to state police. The parked vehicle reportedly traveled backwards and struck its two occupants, checking the trailer for mechanical problems at the time. They were airlifted to UPMC Hamot for moderate injuries, police said. Finch was reportedly ejected from his vehicle and transported to Meadville Medical Center for major injuries. Chapmanville and Townville fire departments, Townville ambulance and Emergicare assisted on scene.

-Michael J. Miller, 61, of Meadville, was traveling west on Black Road in Hayfield Township when he struck the vehicle of driver Holley Schlehofer, of Conneaut Lake, who was stopped at a mailbox at 1:45 p.m. Sept. 21, according to state police. Schlehofer’s vehicle reportedly traveled into a ditch as a result of impact. She suffered minor injuries, police said.

-JacQueline A. Caputo, 48, of Erie, was traveling north on Interstate 79 in Vernon Township when she left the roadway and struck a guardrail at 9:30 a.m.. Sept. 21, according to state police. Her vehicle reportedly spun counterclockwise and struck the guardrail again. Caputo left the car at the scene without reporting the incident, police said. No injuries were reported.

-Jessica L. Schombert, 19, of Ellwood City, was traveling north on Route 86 in Woodcock Township when she swerved to avoid an unidentified white vehicle that pulled out in front of her at 12:52 p.m. Sept. 20, according to state police. Her vehicle reportedly slid out of control and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported.
