MEADVILLE — Titusville Area

Magisterial District Judge

-Brode L. Skalos, 30, of Corry, waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Amy Nicols and was bound over to the next term of court on two counts of driving under the influence and four summary charges. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Aug. 26 in Sparta Township. He was released on his own recognizance.

-Shaine J. Shreffler, 27, of Titusville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the next term of court on four counts of possession of a controlled substance two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and a summary count. Titusville police filed the charges for an incident March 31. He was released on his own recognizance.

-Michael J. Obringer, 27, of Union City, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the next term of court on charges of simple assault, endangering the welfare of children and one summary charge. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Aug. 18 in Bloomfield Township. His bail is set at $25,000 unsecured.



Vernon Township Area

Magisterial District Judge

-Vernon L. Black Jr., 41, of 15 Lilly Lane, Manor, waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Michael Rossi and was bound over to the next term of court on two counts of driving under the influence and one summary charge. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Aug. 26 in Union Township. He was released on his own recognizance.

-Kyle C. Kale, 26, of 427 Main St., Saegertown, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the next term of court on two counts of driving under the influence and three summary charges. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Sept. 16 in Vernon Township. He was released on his own recognizance.



Linesville Area

Magisterial District Judge

-Anson L. Keesler, 65, of 5010 Footville-Richmond Rd., Andover, Ohio, was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Rita Marwood on three counts of retail theft and two summary charges. Linesville Police filed the charges for incidents from May 9 to Oct. 5. He was placed in Crawford County Prison on $10,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 15.

-Christopher A. Roseberry, 29, of 214 Jefferson St., Linesville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the next term of court on the charge of disorderly conduct and two summary charges. Linesville Police filed the charges for an incident on Aug. 4. He was released on his own recognizance. His arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 2.



Saegertown Area

Magisterial District Judge

-Padam B. Baniya, of Columbus, Ohio, was held for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Lincoln Zilhaver on two counts of driving under the influence and three summary charges. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Sept. 15 in Cussewago Township. He was released on his own recognizance.

-Robert L. Swanson, 39, of Townville, was held for a preliminary hearing on one count of DUI and two summary charges. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Sept. 2 in Randolph Township. He was released on his own recognizance.

-David A. Casper, 30, of Cambridge Springs, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the next term of court on two counts of DUI and six summary charges. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Sept. 16 in Blooming Valley. He was released on his own recognizance.



Crimes

State Police

-Pennsylvania State Police are looking for two males and one female who they say conspired to steal a car stereo, valued at $175, from the Titusville Wal-Mart in Oil Creek Township at 10:30 p.m. Oct. 5. The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call (800) 922-1975.

-A 34-year-old Townville man fell victim to identity theft by one or more unknown suspects between 8 a.m. and 5:55 p.m. from Sept. 14 through Oct. 9, according to state police. The victim’s Social Security number was reportedly used to open several credit card accounts which were used to the approximate amount of $9,785.10 at different locations for various items. The investigation continues.



Crashes

State Police

-There were no injuries in a car-deer crash on Interstate 79 in Erie County at 11:35 p.m. Oct. 4. Donald T. Capan, 44, of Erie was driving south on the interstate in McKean Township when his auto struck a deer standing in the roadway. Capan had attempted to slow the car down and move to the left to avoid the deer, but struck the animal. Capan and three passengers in the car, Janice M. Chatley, 62, Jason M. Phillips, 30, and Heather A. Chatley, 30, all of Meadville, all were wearing seat belts.

-There were no injuries in a sport utility vehicle-deer crash on Route 322 at 10:45 a.m. Oct. 6 in East Fallowfield Township. Cassandra L. Boni, 26, of Huston, was driving east when a deer crossed the roadway at the intersection with Helbig Road. Boni and a passenger, Danielle M. Tofani, 26, of Greenville, both were wearing seat belts.
