Magisterial District Judge

-Richard W. Akers Jr., 21, of Corry, was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Amy Nicols and bound over to the next term of court on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, eight counts of theft by unlawful taking and four summary charges. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Jan. 2 in South Shenango Township.

-Eric J. Carlson, 50, of Centerville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the next term of court on two counts of driving under the influence and four summary charges. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Dec. 3 in Bloomfield Township. He was released on his own recognizance.

-Mitchell J. Aikens, 18, of Franklin, was held for a preliminary hearing and bound over to the next term of court on charges of robbery, stalking and simple assault. Titusville police filed the charegs for an incident on Jan. 13. He was released from Crawford County Prison. His bond is set at $15,000 unsecured.

-Martin A. Mitchell Jr., 29, of Corry, was arraigned and bound over to the next term of court on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, nine counts of theft by unlawful taking and five summary charges. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Jan. 2 in South Shenango Township. He was placed in Crawford County Prison on $50,000 bond.

-Shawn L. Kaufman, 39, of Spartansburg, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the next term of court on two counts of driving under the influence and two summary charges. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Dec. 14 in Sparta Township. She was released on her own recognizance.



Vernon Township Area

Magisterial District Judge

-Katie Sue Francis Allen, 26, of 11561 State Highway 285, Conneaut Lake, waived her right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Michael Rossi and was bound over to the next term of court on two counts of driving under the influence and three summary charges. Cochranton police filed the charges for an incident on Dec. 10. She was released on her own recognizance.

-John L. Elder, 38, of 8635 Lojek Road, Cochranton, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the next term of court on a charge of DUI and five summary charges. Vernon Township police filed the charges for an incident on Sept. 14. His bond is set at $10,000 unsecured.

-Andrew J. Walchak, 36, of 4214 Harvest Bend, Erie, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the next term of court on the charge of use/possession of drug paraphernalia and one summary charge. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Dec. 16 in Vernon Township. He was released on his own recognizance.

-Tyler A. Obert, 20, of 6833 Mercer Pike, Meadville, was held for a preliminary hearing and bound over to the next term of court on the charge of simple assault and one summary charge. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Dec. 6 in Union Township. His bond is set at $15,000 unsecured.

-Matthew D. Guiney, 23, of 10778 Blue Falls Road, Conneautville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the next term of court on two counts of driving under the influence and four summary charges. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Dec. 16 in Vernon Township. He was released on his own recognizance.



Linesville Area

Magisterial District Judge

-Ronald A. Jones, 46, of 1326 Hickory St., Espyville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Rita Marwood and was bound over to the next term of court on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, prohibited possession of a firearm and one summary charge. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Dec. 17 in North Shenango Township. His bond is set at $10,000 monetary with conditions.

-Cory M. Hochschild, 24, of 427 West Erie St., Linesville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the next term of court on two counts of driving under the influence and four summary charges. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Nov. 2 in Summit Township. He was released on his own recognizance.

-Jason J. Chadwick, 38, of 629 Euclid Avenue, Canonsburg, was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Rita Marwood and bound over to the next term of court on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief and theft by unlawful taking. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on April 11, 2011 in Pine Township. He was placed in Crawford County Prison on $50,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 31.



Saegertown Area

Magisterial District Judge

-Lisa L. Palmiero-Jackson, 44, of Meadville, waived her right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Lincoln Zilhaver and was bound over to the next term of court on two counts of driving under the influence, endangering the welfare of children, reckless endangerment and four summary charges. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Dec. 12 in Richmond Township. She was released on her own recognizance.



Crashes

State Police

-Jerry Whitmore, 58, of Meadville, was traveling north on Highway 18 in Summit Township when he lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway, striking trees and a utility pole at approximately 11:08 p.m. Jan. 23, according to state police. Charges are pending, the police report said.

-An unknown driver allegedly lost control of a vehicle on Highway 86 in Woodcock Borough and ran over a resident’s mailbox between 12:01 and 7:30 a.m. Jan. 24, according to state police. No further details were released.

-Evan J. Sanzari, 23, of Cochranton, was traveling west on Adamsville Road in East Fallowfield Township when he went over an ice patch and lost control of his vehicle at 7:18 p.m. Jan. 21, according to state police. He reportedly traveled off the north side of the roadway into a ditch, causing the vehicle to roll over. He was taken to UPMC Greenville for minor injuries, police said. The vehicle was towed by Rodgers Auto Body. Conneaut Lake Area Ambulance and Fallowfield VFD assisted on scene.

-Robert A. Henry, 41, of Saegertown, was traveling south on Gospel Hill Road in Cussewago Township when he lost control of his vehicle and went off the roadway, striking an embankment at 6:22 p.m. Jan. 21, according to state police. No injuries were reported, but charges are pending.

-A 16-year-old driver was traveling north on Hartstown Road in North Shenango Township when the vehicle slid sideways and overturned as a result of icy conditions at 8:40 a.m. Jan. 22, according to state police. The vehicle reportedly came to a final rest on its roof facing northwest, sustaining major damage. The teenage driver and 15-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries, police said. Smitty’s Towing assisted on scene.

-Linda S. Cribbs, 66, of Edinboro, was traveling south on Plank Road in Venango Township when she traveled off the roadway as a result of icy conditions at 7:50 a.m. Jan. 21, according to state police. She reportedly traveled into the west ditch and struck an embankment. No injuries were reported.

-Lorrie A. Nichols, 54, of Saegertown, was traveling east on Route 198 when she traveled off the roadway at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 20, according to state police. She reportedly traveled into a ditch and struck a culvert. She and her 8-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries, police said.

-Patricia A. Gordon, 30, of Corry, was traveling east on Route 77 in Sparta Township when she struck the rear of the vehicle in front of her, belonging to Russell Miller of Spartansburg, at 8:45 p.m. Jan. 17, according to state police. She reportedly failed to see Miller’s vehicle before impact. Her vehicle was disabled and came to rest in the eastbound lane of Route 77, police said. No injuries were reported.

-Leslie N. Pavolko, 22, of Albion, was traveling south on Crossingville Road in Cussewago Township when she swerved to avoid a vehicle that traveled north into her lane at 6:59 a.m. Jan. 21, according to state police. She reportedly traveled off the roadway and struck a tree, suffering injuries of unknown severity. The oncoming driver continued traveling north, police said. Pickney’s Towing assisted on scene.



Crimes

State Police

-A 35-year-old Saegertown woman, whose name police did not disclose, was arrested for allegedly punching a 37-year-old Saegertown man in the face at the American Legion in Saegertown at 11:14 p.m. Jan. 23, according to state police. The accused reportedly struck the victim several times, causing an abrasion to the eye. She is expected to face charges before Magisterial District Judge Lincoln Zilhaver. The investigation continues.

-Pennsylvania State Police are looking for an unknown suspect accused of entering two Centerville homes on Garland and Erie streets on several occasions and stealing undisclosed amounts of money at unknown times between Dec. 1 and Jan. 23. Both victims, a 68-year-old Centerville man and 76-year-old Centerville woman, were reportedly home at the time. The most recent incident occurred when the suspect broke into a home and stole money while the female victim was sleeping, police said. -Joshua L. Klingensmith, 23, of Meadville, is accused of stealing a Saegertown woman’s 1996 Jeep Cherokee from a Woodcock Township Residence on Highway 6 and 19 and crashing it on State Route 198 at Reservoir Road at 2 p.m. Jan. 24, according to state police. He reportedly lost control of the vehicle and hit a pole at a nearby residence. He was arraigned on Jan. 25 before Magisterial District Judge Amy Nicols on single counts of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, police said. He was placed in Crawford County Prison on $30,000 bond.

-Pennsylvania State Police are looking for an unknown suspect accused of stealing two lock boxes from a Rome Township residence on Chase Road between 4 p.m. Jan. 19 and 9:30 p.m. Jan. 21. The lock boxes reportedly contained cash and prescription medication. The investigation continues.

-Phillip M. Badger, 27, of Jackson Center, was located in his vehicle  sleeping in the right hand lane of Interstate 79 in Cussewago Township at 12:10 a.m. Jan. 13, according to state police. DUI charges are pending.

-Two Cambridge Springs residents reported a breaking and entering incident in their apartment on South Main Street between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. Jan. 20, according to state police. The residents allege multiple suspects stole their pet iguana and $125 cash after entering their apartment by force. The iguana was reportedly discovered in the apartment building hallway. Police gave no further details regarding the investigation.

-Pennsylvania State Police are looking for an unknown suspect accused of striking a parked car and fleeing the parking lot of the Titusville Wal-Mart in Oil Creek Township at 8:20 p.m. Jan. 20. The suspect allegedly traveled through the parking stalls before hitting a 2004 Ford Escape belonging to a 24-year-old Titusville woman. -Pennsylvania State Police are looking for one or more unknown suspects accused of discharging a firearm into a Bloomfield Township residence on Lake Road between 1 and 3 a.m. Jan. 20. Anyone with information is asked to call State Police at the Corry barracks at (814) 663-2043.

-Pennsylvania State Police are looking for one or more suspects accused of pulling road signs out of the ground near Brimstone and Kunick roads in Rome Township between 8 p.m. Jan. 18 and 7 a.m. Jan. 19. Anyone with information is asked to call State Police at the Corry barracks at (814) 663-2043.

-Alvin B. Dyne, 58, of Centerville, was accused of possession of drug paraphernalia after failing to stop at a stop sign on Route 89 in Sparta Township at 8:20 p.m. Jan. 19, according to state police. DUI charges pending.
