Magisterial District Judge

-Kenneth M. Wiederstein, 47, of 8398 Colonial Lane, Jamestown, waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Rita Marwood and was bound over to the next term of court on two counts of driving under the influence and two summary charges. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Jan. 28 in South Shenango Township. He was released on his own recognizance.

-Leiah M. Shongo, 30, of Saegertown, was traveling east on Route 198 in Hayfield Township when her vehicle slid and left the snow-covered roadway at 9:30 p.m. Feb. 19, according to state police. The vehicle reportedly grazed a roadsign and came to rest in a ditch. No injuries were reported.

-A 17-year-old Meadville driver was traveling south on Route 6/19 at its intersection with Route 198 in Saegertown when she swerved to avoid a vehicle turning onto Route 198 and lost control of her vehicle on the icy and snow-covered roadway at 8:46 p.m. Feb. 19, according to state police. She reportedly entered the northbound lane and impacted Heather Davis of Cambridge Springs before coming to a rest in the northbound lane. She suffered minor injuries and was taken to Meadville Medical Center for treatment, police said. Davis and her 10-year-old passenger reported no injuries. Meadville EMS, Saegertown VFD and Leonard’s Towing assisted on scene.

-Timothy G. Maziarz, 61, of Meadville, was traveling south on State Route 98 in Hayfield Township when he turned around in a residence driveway to head back north and pulled out in front of a commercial vehicle driven by Johan Wall, 36, of Wheatley, heading north at 11:20 a.m. Feb. 21, according to state police. Wall reportedly struck Maziarz, who spun counter clockwise before coming to rest in the southbound lane. No injuries were reported. Maziarz’s bumper was removed upon impact, police said. West End Towing Service assisted on scene.

-Ann M. Nichols, 33, of Townville, was traveling north on State Route 77 in Richmond Township when she attempted to pass a vehicle but lost control on an icy patch at 8:15 p.m. Feb. 22, according to state police. She reportedly traveled off the west berm and struck a culvert at a driveway, then crossed the driveway and struck a fence before coming to rest. She was taken to Meadville Medical Center for minor injuries, police said. Blooming Valley VFD assisted on scene.
