MEADVILLE — Crashes

State Police

-William M. McCartney, 31, of Sharpsville, was traveling north on Interstate 79 in Greenwood Township when a deer entered the roadway and struck his vehicle at 10:30 a.m. May 30, according to state police. The impact reportedly disabled the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

-Kalie Simmerer, 27, of Meadville, was traveling east on Route 86 in Woodcock Township when she lost control of her vehicle and crossed the westbound lane at approximately 3:09 a.m. May 31, according to state police. She reportedly left the roadway and traveled into a roadside ditch. No injuries were reported. DUI charges pending.

-Burton D. Porter, 40, of Conneautville, was traveling south on South Mosiertown Road in Hayfield Township when he lost control of his vehicle and went into a ditch at 3:10 a.m. May 31, according to state police. No injuries were reported. DUI charges pending.

-There were no injuries in a one-car crash on Interstate 79 in Greenwood Township at 4:30 p.m. June 6. Anthony M. Betts, 22, of Mechanicsburg was driving north on the interstate near milepost 141 when he lost control of his car while passing another vehicle. Betts’ vehicle slid off the west side of the interstate and came to a stop in the median.
