MEADVILLE — Crashes

State Police

- Joseph W. Weeks, 21, of Rock Creek, was traveling west on State Highway 198 in Beaver Township when he failed to continue turning left on a curve and traveled off the roadway at 2:09 a.m. Dec. 9, according to state police. He reportedly struck a ditch, blowing out the left front tire before coming to rest. He then fled the scene with minor injury, police said. No further details were released.

- Gregory L. Myers, 63, of Erie, was traveling south along Interstate 79 approximately 920  feet north of Matt Road in Hayfield Township when a deer entered his lane of travel, causing a collision at 10:42 a.m. Dec. 8, according to state police. His vehicle reportedly impacted the deer in the front. Police reported no injuries to the driver or his passengers Mary and Gary Myers.

- An unidentified driver struck the left rear bumper of a legally parked vehicle in a Dollar General parking lot in Townville, Steuben Township, after backing out of a parking space at an unknown time on Dec. 13, according to state police. The driver reportedly left the scene without notifying the owner of the 2010 Toyota Tacoma, which suffered minor damage to the rear bumper. No further details were released.

- Adelia K. Karell, 19, of Meadville, was traveling west on State Route 198 west of North Norrisville Road in Summerhill Township when she lost control of her vehicle negotiating a right-hand curve at 9:20 p.m. Dec. 10, according to state police. She reportedly spun off the north side of the road and struck a ditch, rolling the vehicle onto its right side. She suffered minor injuries, police said.

- Pennsylvania State Police are looking for an unknown suspect involved in a hit and run accident in Greenwood Township at 11:20 p.m. Dec. 12. A tan vehicle bearing an Ohio registration plate reportedly entered Interstate 79 from the berm and struck the side of a semi-truck, driven by William Blakley of Mars, damaging the tire and step. The suspect then fled, police said, leaving the registration plate at the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police, Meadville barracks at (814) 332-6911.

- Gordon A. Sutton, 75, of Titusville, was traveling south on Spring Creek Road at its intersection with Harger Road in Oil Creek Township when he attempted to make a left turn and struck the vehicle of Agnes A. Ruth-Hemme, 62, of Spartansburg head on at 10:32 a.m. Dec. 12, according to state police. Both vehicles reportedly spun before coming to rest. Police reported no injuries. Sutton’s vehicle suffered disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Shambaugh’s Towing. Ruth-Hemme’s vehicle suffered minor damage, police said. Titusville and Pleasantville Fire Departments assisted on scene.



Crime

State Police

- A 17-year-old girl escaped from Bethesda Children’s Home in Woodcock Township at 10:10 p.m. Dec. 11, according to state police. The juvenile was reportedly picked up by a subject whose name was not released. Police offered no further details regarding the incident.

- An unidentified man wearing a camouflage mask reportedly fled from police on an ATV after a traffic stop in Conneautville at 1:24 a.m. Dec. 14. The investigation continues. No further details were released.

- Pennsylvania State Police are looking for one or more unknown suspects accused of stealing 10 batteries and connecting wire, valued at approximately $1,770, from a well site in North Shenango Township between 7 p.m. Dec. 9 and 6:30 a.m. Dec. 12. The suspects reportedly took the items from construction equipment belonging to Mountain Top LLC, New Kensington, and Lightening Energy Services, Bridgeport, W.Va. The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call State Police, Meadville barracks at (814) 332-6911.

- Robert Klakamp, 54, of Union City, was accused of harassment for striking a 38-year-old Union City woman in the face during a domestic dispute at 10:40 p.m. Dec. 12, according to state police. He will reportedly face charges before Magisterial District Judge Amy Nicols.



Vernon Township Area

Magisterial District Judge

- Cody J. Webber, 18, of 18778 Custard Road, Cochranton, waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Michael Rossi and was bound over to the next term of court on two counts of criminal conspiracy, burglary, theft by unlawful taking, criminal trespass and receiving stolen property. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Oct. 17 in Greenwood Township. His bond is set at $25,000 unsecured.



Linesville Area

Magisterial District Judge

- Brad R. Rossey, 43, of 14550 Inlet Road, Meadville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Rita Marwood and was bound over to the next term of court on two counts of driving under the influence and three summary charges. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Nov. 11 in Summit Township. He was released on his own recognizance. His arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 11.

- Kevin J. Clausen, 25, of 14916 South Townline Road, Linesville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the next term of court on charges of theft by deception, criminal attempt, two counts of receiving stolen property, forgery, seven counts of access device fraud, identity theft and theft by unlawful taking. Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges for an incident on Aug. 30 in Conneautville. He was released on his own recognizance. His arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 11.



Meadville Area

Magisterial District Judge

- Ryan W. Hollabaugh, 26, of 843 Liberty St., Meadville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge William Chisholm and was bound over to the next term of court on two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault and two summary charges. Meadville police filed the charges for an incident on Dec. 2. He was placed in Crawford County Prison on $10,000 bail.



Meadville Area

Magisterial District Judge

- Robert J. Carpin, 29, of Meadville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the next term of court on the charge of fleeing or attempting to elude an officer and six summary charges. Meadville police filed the charges for an incident on Oct. 23. He was released on his own recognizance.



Saegertown Area

Magisterial District Judge

- Brittany A. Mateja, 23, of Cambr idge Springs, was held for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Lincoln Zilhaver and was bound over to the next term of court on the charge of retail theft. Cambridge Springs police filed the charge for an incident on Sept. 9. She was placed in Crawford County Prison on $10,000 bail.
