Magisterial District Judge

-Raymond J. Ebbert III, 22, of 795 Garden Street, Meadville, was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge William Chisholm and bound over to the next term of court on charges of retail theft, theft by deception, criminal conspiracy and criminal attempt. Meadville police filed the charges for an incident on March 10. He was released on his own recognizance.

Crashes

State Police

-Shawn P. Powell, 40, of Jamestown, was traveling north on Terrace Street Extension in West Mead Township when a dear ran onto the roadway at 12:05 a.m. March 22, according to state police. Powell reportedly applied his brakes and slid across the snow-covered roadway into a guardrail. He was taken to Meadville Medical Center for minor injuries, police said.

-Krista L. Gorman, 19, of Meadville, was traveling west on Route 77 in West Mead Township when she lost control of her vehicle on the snow-covered roadway at 9:53 p.m. March 21, according to state police. She reportedly traveled off the roadway and struck a tree. Gorman and was taken to Meadville Medical Center for minor injuries, police said. Passenger Danielle McKay of Meadville reportedly sustained minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene. Passenger Shane Edwards of Union City was uninjured, police said. West End Towing assisted on scene.

-Josh Shoaff, 25, of Transfer, was traveling east on Conneaut Lake Road in Vernon Township when Martin J. Woodcock, 33, of Meadville, pulled out of a parking lot into Shoaff’s lane of travel at 2:14 p.m. March 22, according to state police. Shoaff’s vehicle reportedly struck Woodcock’s vehicle along the passenger side. No injuries were reported. Charges are pending against Woodock, police said.

-Andrew A. Wright, 25, of Titusville, was traveling east on State Route 77 in East Mead Township when he looked away from the road and drifted off the south berm, impacting a guard rail at 2:13 p.m. March 22, according to state police. The vehicle reportedly damaged a large section of the guardrail before traveling across both lanes, coming to a rest in the westbound lane facing east. He was arrested for DUI, police said. No injuries were reported for Wright or his 6-month-old passenger.

State Police

-Pennsylvania State Police reported a case of assault on Bertran Drive in Saegertown at 11:29 p.m. March 21. A 40-year-old male suspect was accused of injuring a 41-year-old female during an alleged physical altercation. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Rossi and placed in Crawford County jail.
