MEADVILLE — Crashes

State Police

-Robert H. Mahaney, 83, of Medina, Ohio was driving northbound on Interstate 79 in Hayfield Township at 9:42 a.m. on Jan. 3 when for unknown reasons he drive off the roadway and struck a ditch, causing the vehicle to overturn. Mahaney, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Meadville Medical Center for unknown injuries.

-Jonathan K. Loeb, 30, of Pittsburgh was traveling northbound on Interstate 79 in Hayfield Township at 2:05 p.m. on Jan. 1 when he lost traction while negotiating a left curve, traveled off the roadway, hit an embankment and rolled over. Loeb, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Meadville Medical Center for unknown injuries.

-An unknown driver was driving north on State Route 8 in Centerville at 1 p.m. on Jan. 4 when the driver traveled off the roadway and struck a mailbox before coming to rest in a yard. The driver fled the scene north on State Route 8. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police in Corry at (814) 663-2043.



Crimes

State Police

-Someone removed a black Mauser P-38 pistol from a residence on State Highway 198 in Woodcock Township sometime between Sept. 15 and Dec. 24. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Justin Carman at the Meadville state police barracks at 332-6911.

-Someone entered an unlocked vehicle on Centerville Road, Athens Township sometime between midnight and 7 a.m. on Jan. 4 and removed a .22 caliber air rifle, a bag of traps and a cell phone taser and then fled the scene. The incident is under investigation.
