Magisterial District Judge

–– Linda L. Demeo, 36, of 12227 West Vernon Road, Conneaut Lake, waived her right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge Rita Marwood on Conneaut Lake Regional Police Department charges of two counts of driving under the influence, one count each of resisting arrest and flight to avoid apprehension and four summary traffic offenses for an incident Aug. 24 and was recommitted to Crawford County jail, Saegertown, in lieu of $20,000 bond. Demeo also pleaded guilty to a separately-filed Pennsylvania State Police charge of one count of simple assault for an incident Sept. 18 and was ordered to pay a total of $1,138 in fines and costs.

–– Karl V. Markan, 61, of 12227 West Vernon Road, Conneaut Lake, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a Pennsylvania State Police charge of one count of simple assault for an incident Sept. 18 and was ordered to pay a total of $1,138 in fines and costs.

Crashes

State Police

Pennsylvania State Police at Meadville report:

–– Nobody was injured in a three vehicle crash about 1:35 p.m. Oct. 2 in Woodcock Township. A vehicle driven by Douglas W. Seigworth, 51, of Saegertown; failed to slow down and stop. His vehicle struck one driven by Richard H. Goodwill II, 39, of Spartansburg, which was stopped, causing that vehicle to strike the rear of a vehicle driven by William M. Humphreys, 24, of Edinboro. Seigworth had a minor laceration to the left forearm.

–– Theodore R. DeWeese Jr., 39, of Utica, was not injured when a vehicle he was driving at about 10:12 p.m. Friday struck a deer while DeWeese was traveling on Route 19 in Vernon Township.

–– No injuries were reported in a 7:30 p.m. crash Friday on Route 98, 525 feet north of Springboro Road, Cussewago Township. Mary E. Long, 29, of Erie, was traveling south and the rear passenger side tire went flat, causing her to lose control of her vehicle and enter the west ditch. The rear passenger side of the vehicle hit the ditch, causing the rest of the vehicle to enter the ditch. When the front of the vehicle hit the ditch, the radiator was damaged, causing fluid leakage. A passenger in the vehicle, Roy L. Kelley, 33, of Erie, was not injured either.

–– Jeffery E. Smock, 37, of Meadville, suffered a laceration to the back of his head following a crash at about 9:05 p.m. Friday on Kebort Road, east of Gatesland Drive, East Fairfield Township. Smock steered his vehicle off the ride side of the roadway and struck a tree.

–– Charles A. Thompson, 55, of Meadville, was driving north on Route 98 in Hayfield Township at 3:16 p.m. Saturday when his vehicle struck the back of a vehicle being driven north by Edward J. Geiser, 69, of Saegertown. Geiser and his passenger, Thelma Geiser, 68, of Saegertown, both reportedly sustained minor injuries. Charges against Thompson are reportedly pending.
