Crashes
State Police
- There were no injuries in a crash on Interstate 79 in Vernon Township at 4 p.m. Thursday. Kelly Cox of Eden, N.C., was traveling on the northbound entrance ramp at the Meadville interchange in the construction zone. Cox failed to stop the vehicle she was driving behind a pickup truck that had stopped at a stop sign on the entrance ramp. Cox then came to a stop in the single northbound lane in the construction zone. A northbound tractor-trailer, driven by Edwin Swift of Greensburg, was forced to swerve off the east side of the interstate and struck the stopped pickup truck, operated by Michael Morrell of Erie.
- Wayne S. Donaldson, 22, of Franklin, wasn’t injured in a one-vehicle crash on Sugar Lake Road in Wayne Township at midnight Friday. Donaldson was driving east when his sport utility vehicle went off the road. It struck a wall, a road sign and a tree before it rolled over. Donaldson was wearing a seatbelt.
- Maryanne L. Hoffman, 59, of Jamestown, was injured in a three-vehicle crash at Route 322 and Unger Road in South Shenango Township at 3:40 p.m. Saturday. Hoffman was driving east on Route 322 and turned in front of a westbound car, driven by Barbara R. Tolla, 23, of Williamsfield, Ohio. Tolla’s auto collided with Hoffman’s and the impact pushed Hoffman’s auto into a car operated by Kady M. Studnicki, 18, of Jamestown. Studnicki had stopped her car at a stop sign on Unger Road. Hoffman was released after treatment at UPMC Horizon Greenville.
- Jacobi Foltz, 27, of 25783 Route 89, Spartansburg, wasn’t injured in a one-truck crash on Route 8 in Centerville at 6:30 a.m. Friday. Foltz was driving south when he reached for his dog while driving. The truck went off the road, struck an embankment and then struck a Pennsylvania Electric Co. pole. The truck then rolled onto its side after impact. Foltz wasn’t injured.
- Sonya R. Mitchell, 23, of Union City, was injured in a one-car crash on Route 8 in Bloomfield Township at 10:35 p.m. Friday. Mitchell was driving north when she became distracted and her car went off the east side of the road. The car struck a guardrail, became airborne and then struck an embankment. Mitchell was taken to Hamot Medical Center in Erie and was released after treatment.
- There were minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Allegheny Street in West Mead Township at 2:36 p.m. Sunday. Terry L. Artice, 42, of Linesville, was driving west on Allegheny Street and had stopped his sport utility vehicle at stop sign at the intersection with Baldwin Street. Artice’s SUV was struck from behind by a van driven by Ryan M. Jewell, 19, of Meadville, that had lost its brakes. Artice was released after treatment at Meadville Medical Center and Jewell wasn’t injured. Both were wearing seatbelts.
- There were no injuries in an off-road motorcycle crash that happened on the roadway of Clemitts Road in Athens Township Saturday. Darrell Wisniewski, 19, of 40945 Recks Road, Centerville, failed to stop for police and crashed. Neither Wisniewski nor a 9-year-old boy who was a passenger was hurt.

State Police
- Someone opened a cellular phone account with Sprint in a Meadville man’s name without authorization and charged $1,300 to the account. The identity theft was discovered in June.
n Unidentified persons took 34 prescription drug tablets from a Summit Township woman’s home in Doral Estates on Thursday.
- Two Greenwood Township women engaged in a physical altercation in a family dispute at a Main Street, Geneva, home at 7 p.m. Thursday.
- Someone damaged a mailbox at a South Shenango Township home on East Lake Road at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday.
- Two couples were involved in an altercation on Park West in Hydetown at 2 a.m. Saturday. Harassment and criminal mischief charges are pending.
- Someone damaged the paint of a Woodcock Township woman’s truck parked at her home along Route 86 between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Sunday.
- A Centerville woman’s purse was left at a Bank Street home in Hydetown Saturday and when the woman returned to the home Sunday, the purse and $150 were missing.
- Various tools including a chain saw, welder and cordless drill were taken from a Rome Township man’s shed at his home on Wright Road overnight Saturday.
- Unidentified persons broke into the Wildhorse Saloon at routes 77 and 89 in Sparta Township and removed six bottles of liquor between 4:30 and 9 a.m. Sunday.
- A known Hydetown man punched a woman at their Bank Street home in Hydetown at 11:45 p.m. Saturday. The man then damaged a double pane glass storm door at the home.
- A bottle of prescription medication was removed from a Union City woman’s purse at the Black Bear Inn in Bloomfield Township between 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:15 a.m. Sunday.
- Someone damaged the driver’s door window and windshield and removed the inspection sticker of a Meadville woman’s car while it was parked off Swamp Road in Rockdale Township between 12:30 a.m. and 1:50 p.m. Sunday.
- Several cast-iron skillets and seven large plastic containers were removed from an East Lake, Ohio, man’s summer home on Jerusalem Hill Road in Beaver Township between 2 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.

Meadville Police
- Unidentified persons damaged a tire on an East Willow Street man’s car while it was parked in front of his home between 9 and 11 p.m. Friday.
- Someone removed an air conditioner from a Williams Street woman’s home. The theft was discovered Saturday.
Crimes
Jamestown Police
- Someone entered the fenced sales yard of Pymatuning Boat Sales on Liberty Street sometime overnight Thursday. It was unknown if anything was taken or damaged.
- Unidentified persons broke a window on the front door of the Jamestown Firemen’s Club overnight Friday.
- Three trailers at Wood-worth’s storage area on Liberty Street were entered sometime overnight Friday. Various items were taken including a television, hatchets and power cords.
