Crashes
Meadville Police
- While trying to park near the intersection of Chestnut and Water streets, a car driven by Margaret Chest, 90, of 11808 Pennsylvania Ave., Meadville, rear-ended a sport utility vehicle owned by Ann G. Findlay, 75, of 571 Chestnut St., Meadville, causing damage to both vehicles. Chest told police she believes her food slipped off the brake.
- A car driven by Mildred J. Dooley, 63, of 384 Walnut St., Meadville, was traveling south on the French Creek Parkway at 1:24 p.m. June 19. According to witnesses, a car driven by Naomi J. McCracken, 83, of 10993 Eastview Ave., Meadville, was traveling west on Willow Street, entered the intersection through a green light and was struck by Dooley’s vehicle.
- A van driven by Richard J. Pucak Jr., 49, of 7670 King Memorial Road, Mentor, Ohio, was traveling north over the Smock Bridge at 3:49 p.m. June 19 when traffic in front of the vehicle came to a stop. When Pucak’s van also came to a stop, a sport utility vehicle driven by Theodore W. Dempsey, 66, of 2728 Perry Highway, Meadville, attempted to stop but struck the van in the rear.
- A pickup truck driven by Bob Wesley Peacock, 70, of 747 Ravine St., Meadville, was traveling north on Grove Street at 12:55 p.m. June 16 when it left the roadway and struck a Penelec pole on the east side of the roadway before coming to rest against the pole.
- Christina D. Wilson, 26, whose address was not given, was driving an all-terrain vehicle at a high rate of speed on Walnut Street at 2:36 p.m. June 14 when a passenger’s hand struck the driver’s side mirror of a truck owned by David George of Route 285, Conneaut Lake, breaking the mirror. The ATV then drove into the rear of a sport utility vehicle owned by Jeff George of 14951 Shermansville Road, Linesville, causing minor damage to the SUV. The ATV sustained disabling damage and both the driver and a passenger were ejected.

Saegertown Area
Magisterial District Judge
- Chad J. White, 19, of 782 Park Ave., Meadville, was arraigned Thursday before Magisterial District Judge Lincoln S. Zilhaver on Cambridge Springs Police Department charges of one count each of theft by unlawful taking, criminal conspiracy, receiving stolen property, criminal trespass and possessing an instrument of crime for an incident that day and was committed to Crawford County jail, Saegertown, in lieu of $25,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 7.

Meadville Area
Magisterial District Judge
- Elanda Marie Steiner, 28, of 1133 S. Main St., Meadville, pleaded guilty before Magisterial District Judge William Chisholm to a Meadville Police Department charge of harassment for a May 14 incident and paid a total of $172 in fines and costs. Charges of burglary and simple assault were withdrawn.
- Jason Mark Oakes, 33, of 41286 Pleasant St., Titusville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Erie Bureau of Narcotics Investigation and Drug Control charges of two counts of acquiring or obtaining possession of a controlled substance for April 10 and April 16 incidents and was released on $10,000 bail. A similar charge for a March 26 incident was withdrawn.

Crashes
Meadville Police
- A car driven by Jessica Gabriel Moll, 26, of 25941 State Highway 27, Guys Mills, was traveling east on Bessemer Street through the intersection with French Creek Parkway on June 25 at 2:50 p.m. A car driven by Wilfred T. Cable III, 57, of 6333 Irishtown Road, Grampion, was traveling south on the Parkway and failed to stop for a steady, properly-functioning red signal, striking Moll’s car and causing it to strike a pole near the intersection. Both vehicles were towed from the scene; Moll reported an injury.
- A car driven by Melissa Ann Miller, 18, of 146 Irwin Road, Georgetown, was traveling south on Park Avenue at Linden Street on June 24 at 10:51 p.m. At the same time, a car driven by Doris M. Anthony, 63, of 1120 Market St., Meadville, was traveling north on Park at the same intersection. Both vehicles had green lights. When Miller attempted to turn left in front of Anthony, the front end of Anthony’s car struck Miller’s car. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Anthony reported a neck injury and was transported to Meadville Medical Center, where she was treated and released.
- A car driven by Joseph James Bernier, 23, of 12010 State Highway 198, Guys Mills, was traveling east on Chestnut Street at the Market Street intersection on June 24 at 6:36 p.m. At the same time, a vehicle driven by Dolores M. Bowersox, 72, of B-5 Yorktown House, Meadville, which was traveling south on Market, entered the intersection and was struck on the passenger’s side by Vernier’s car. Bowersox told police she had a yellow light. One witness said Bowersox had a steady red signal and a second witness said she was traveling at a high rate of speed, police reported.

Crimes
State Police
- Since June 6, an unknown person has been frequently ringing the door bell at a Tighe Road residence in Conneaut Township during the early-morning hours. The investigation continues.
- The juvenile daughter of an East Mead Township resident was baby-sitting at their Hobbs Road residence with a friend June 13 between 10 and 10:30 p.m. when five known juvenile males arrived. Two of the juveniles damaged a sliding door while attempting to gain entry into the residence, and a garage door to a storage building on the property was also damaged. Both buildings sustained a total of approximately $1,000 damage. Two of the juveniles removed alcohol from the residence.
- Unknown actors cut and removed copper grounding wire valued at $45 from seven electric utility poles in a wooded area east of the intersection of Townline and Bethel roads in Oil Creek Township between June 1 and June 25.
- Harassment and other charges are pending against a 23-year-old Union City woman after she allegedly pointed a rifle in the direction of two Titusville women in an attempt to scare them away from a Carter Avenue, Bloomfield Township residence at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday.
- Disorderly conduct and other charges are pending against a 48-year-old Spartansburg woman after she allegedly caused a public disturbance on the porch of an East Main Street, Spartansburg residence at 10:05 p.m. Wednesday.
