Magisterial District Judge

n Rusty Rodney Barnes, 23, of 1 North St., Cambridge Springs, was bound over to court following a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Lincoln Zilhaver on Pennsylvania State Police charges of two counts of driving under the influence for a March 10 incident in Cambridge Springs and was released on his own recognizance.

n Dusty Alan Veres, 26, of 532 Arch St., Meadville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing on state police charges of two counts of DUI and one summary traffic offense for a March 29 incident in Woodcock Township and was released on his own recognizance.

City Police

n A pickup truck driven by Robert J. Rossi, 61, of 9447 Franklin St., Meadville, was traveling north on Liberty Street at 3:39 p.m. April 24. The truck made a left turn onto Randolph Street through a stop sign, where it was struck by a car driven by Melvin Eugene Simons Jr., 26, of 18635 Jay Drive, Saegertown, which was traveling west on Randolph and had the right of way. No injuries were reported.

n A sport utility vehicle driven by Linda D. Loiacono of 26964 State Highway 77, Guys Mills, was traveling west on Washington Street on April 24 at 5 a.m. The driver told police she blacked out and the vehicle drifted out of the westbound lane, crossed the eastbound lane and entered the parking lot in front of 560 Washington St., where it struck a city-owned utility pole that had two electronic pedestrian-control signals on it. The impact destroyed the pole and a sign and caused significant damage to the front end of the vehicle. Loiacono was transported to Meadville Medical Center by ambulance.

State Police

n Courtney L. Graham, 20, of Union City, was driving north at an apparent high rate of speed on Route 89 in Sparta Township at 1:15 p.m. May 3 when she lost control of her vehicle, causing it to cross over the road’s dividing line and strike a vehicle being driven south by Debra G. Howell, 49, of Spartansburg. Graham and one of her passengers, Robert W. Miller III, 21, of Erie, reportedly sustained minor injuries. Charges are pending.
