Tamarack Lake-lovers seek volunteers to help with cleanup event

Meadville Tribune

WEST MEAD TOWNSHIP — Tamarack Lake cleanup days, in conjunction with French Creek Conservancy, are Sept. 7 and organizers are recruiting volunteers.

Anyone interested in helping is to email with names, email addresses and/or telephone numbers of those interested in volunteering as well as the size of T-shirts by Wednesday. Volunteers can sign up anytime after that but may not get the T-shirt size needed.

Those who are interested in being a team leader for a group of people are to include that in the email. If anyone has a truck that can be used to take the cleanup items to Sprague’s Farm are to include that in the email also.

Garbage cans are needed to collect broken glass. Bags and gloves will be provided.

The cleanup day begins at 7:30 a.m. with a meeting place of the handicap parking lot. The picnic at Sprague’s Farm begins at noon.

Weighing of collected items will be from noon to 4 p.m., with the announcement of winners and awards taking place between 5 and 5:30.
