The Meadville Tribune
In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we offer several features that provide information on detection and prevention, local efforts to aid breast cancer patients and essays from three area women who share their experiences. Some of the proceeds generated by the advertisers who supported this effort will go to the Looking Ahead Breast Cancer Support Group, which meets at St. Brigid’s Church in Meadville the second Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m.
In particular, we wish to draw your attention to the essays of Kim Goodman, Kim Irwin and Alma Shafer. These three courageous women have stepped forward to share their lives with us in an effort to smooth the path for those to come. They help us understand that life goes on after the diagnosis and that breast cancer can be beat.
