Susan Frisk Iatesta

FLANDERS, N.Y. — Susan Frisk Iatesta, 57, of Flanders, N.J., died Monday, April 7, 2008.

Born July 10, 1950, in Meadville to the late Chester Joseph Frisk and the late Catherine Earnest Frisk, Susan graduated from Meadville Area High School in 1968. She received a bachelor’s degree in music education from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, and her master’s in education from Rutgers University.

Susan was a music educator in the New Providence, N.J., school district for 36 years. She received the New Providence School District Teacher of the Year award for 2005-06. She was awarded Master Teacher by the New Jersey Music Educators Association in 2007, and was also awarded the New Jersey Governor’s Award in Art Education in 2007.

Surviving are her husband, John Iatesta of Flanders; a daughter, Catherine Iatesta of Flanders; two sisters, Carol Dreiling and her husband, Gilbert, of Denver, Colo., and Kathleen Crispin and her husband, Robert, of Scarborough, Maine; two sisters and a brother in-law, Annette Jacobsen of Florham Park, N.J., and Joanne Hutnik and her husband, Charles, of Glen Ridge, N.J.; and 14 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you send donations to the Cancer Center Fund for Excellence, PO Box 1956, Morristown, N.J., 07962, specifying “In memory of Susan Iatesta” on the memo line.

Arrangements were under the direction of William J. Leber Funeral Home, Chester, N.J.
