Emmaline Katherine (Katy) Gage

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Emmaline Katherine (Katy) Gage, 96, of 9933 Arbuckle Drive, Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Meadville, passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, at Solari Hospice Care, Las Vegas. For the last nine months, she resided at Willow Creek Assisted Living Home, Las Vegas.

Katy was born in Dutch Hill on Sept. 30, 1912, a daughter of the late Harvey Gackenbach and Frances Broatmeyer Gackenbach. Katy married Homer Gage; he preceded her in death in 1986.

She was a member of Mountain View Presbyterian Church of Las Vegas, and was a former member of Stone United Methodist Church of Meadville.

She was a graduate of Greenville High School and the former Meadville Commercial College.

Katy was a member of the Meadville Golden Crown Chapter of The Eastern Star and while living in Meadville had been a member of The Country Club. An avid bridge player, her other hobbies included collecting antiques, golfing, traveling, oil painting and china painting. Katy will be remembered for her beautiful smile and her warm friendly heart.

Katy is survived by three children, Nancy Thomas and her husband, Ronald, of Las Vegas, Suzanne Cornell-Kalode and her husband, Donald Kalode, of Tucson, Ariz., and Thomas Gage and his wife, Irmgard, of Erie; nine grandchildren, Julie Falcone of Brownsburg, Ind., Kathy Johnson of Overton, Nev., Nicole Thomas of Chicago, Ill., Curtis Ottey of Tucson, Maurine Amann and her husband, Scott, of Winter Park, Fla., Melissa McCoy and her husband, David, of Tucson, Tyrone Gage and his wife, Tina, of Milford, Conn., Petra Nutz and her husband, Joe, of Newport, N.C., and Monica Collins of Erie; 11 great-grandchildren, Chase and Darcy Falcone, Jordan and Jillian Amann, Jacob, Max and Katie McCoy, Heidi Collins, and Steven, Jessica and Eric Nutz, a sister-in-law, Louise Gage Novak of Conneautville; and several nieces and nephews.
