Angeline M. Sciere

MEADVILLE — Angeline M. Sciere, 83, of Meadville, passed away Friday, June 6, 2014, at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

Angeline was born in Meadville on Jan. 6, 1931, a daughter of the late Saverio and Vincena (Piazza) Sciere.

She was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church and a former member of the Altar Rosary Society.

In 1995 Angeline retired after 45 years of service working as a legal secretary to Attorney John Bosic Jr.  She had also worked for attorneys R. Charles Thomas, Bruce Johnson, Emil Spadafore and David Truax.  From 1960-1979 she worked with the Crawford County Legal Journal where she was responsible for publishing legal notices and advertisements.

A graduate of the former St. Agatha Catholic School, Angeline was also a 1948 graduate of Meadville High School. Following her high school graduation, she became employed in the Register and Recorder’s Office of the Crawford County Courthouse for two and a half years. Angeline was a former member of the Legal Secretary Association. Her hobbies included bowling and golfing.

Angeline is survived by a brother, Anthony J. Sciere and his wife, Joyce, of Glenshaw; cousins George Piazza and his wife, Alda, Roseann Piccolo, Kay Modras, Philip and Dorothy Dechicco, Bobby Dechicco, Joseph and Mary Piazza, and Leon Piazza; two nieces; two nephews, including her godson, John A. Sciere; six great-nieces and great-nephews; six great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and many good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends are invited to call from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, with Father Matthew Kujawinski as celebrant.

Angeline will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., or Humane Society of Crawford County, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, both of Meadville, Pa. 16335; or to American Diabetes Association of Pennsylvania, Suite 602, 300 Penn Central Blvd., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15235.
