PITTSBURGH — Robert Glenn (Hank) Miller passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at the Baptist Home, Pittsburgh. He was called home to be with the Lord and his loving wife, Lois

He was the beloved father of Gary (Nancy) of Fort Worth, Texas, Jeffrey (Mindy) of Kansas City, Kan., Suzanne (Michael) Torcasi of Pittsburgh and Patricia (Art Hart) of Seattle, Wash.; brother of Marge Darby of Akron, Ohio; also survived by nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Friends are welcome Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William Slater II Funeral Service, 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Township;

Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 310 Mansfield Ave., Green Tree, on Thursday at 10 a.m.

Hank was born in Clairton on Aug. 20, 1924. He grew up in Braddock and graduated from Scott High School in 1942. Shortly thereafter he joined the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. Hank then apprenticed as a carpenter and subsequently became a member of Local 165 of the United Carpenters Union that just honored him this December for 65 years of membership.

Hank and his wife, Lois, who passed away in November 2009, raised their four children in McKeesport. They retired to Conneaut Lake in 1989, where they enjoyed 20 years living at the “Lake.” Hank was an avid golfer and an all-around good guy. He was dearly loved by his many relatives and friends and enjoyed making people laugh.
