CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS —
Gregory James Pontious, 57, of 21743 State Highway 86, Cambridge Springs, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a one-day illness.
Born in Erie on Nov. 13, 1956, he was the son of Geraldine Sauers Pontious and the late James P. Pontious.
A graduate of General McLane High School, Edinboro, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. His employment as an electrician was with several businesses located in the Erie area with Muzyka Builders in Erie as the most recent.
Surviving Gregory in addition to his mother, Geraldine Pontious, is his daughter, Amanda Faye Pontious, who lived with her father at home; his longtime companion, Karen Proctor, at home; two brothers, Jeff Pontious and his companion, Denise, of Conneautville, and Brian Pontious of Lincoln, Neb.; three sisters, Terry Vatter of Conneautville, Connie Eastman and her husband, Michael, of Cambridge Springs, and Shelly Gilbert and her husband, Gary of Allegany, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
There is no funeral being planned at this time.
