Charles Edward (Chuck) Corliss Jr.

COCHRANTON — Charles Edward (Chuck) Corliss Jr., 70, of Cochranton, passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at the home of his daughter, DeAnn, after a courageous year-and-a-half battle with cancer.

Born June 25, 1942, in Tionesta, he was the son of Charles and Lillian Stricker Corliss Sr.

He was a lifetime mechanic working for Boze Bailey Garage, Bob Brandt Volkswagen, Griffin Motors, Rick’s Tire and Auto, and with his son, Brian, they owned and operated B & C Auto. He was well known by most for his work as a mechanic as he enjoyed working on vehicles and helping others.

He attended Conneaut Lake High School. His pastimes included camping at Tionesta and locally at Playland Campgrounds; listening to country music; bowling; and NASCAR, having attended a couple of races and the annual Daytona 500 parties at Station 5, Conneaut Lake. He enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins and spending time with his great-grandson, (Little Buddy) Mayson.

He was previously married to the former Ora Russell, the mother of his four children. He is survived by two daughters, DeAnn and her husband, David Baker II, of Conneaut Lake, and Michele and her husband, Richard Adsit, of Meadville; two sons, Brian Corliss and his wife, Mary, of Linesville, and Charles Corliss III and his wife, Angela, of Missouri; his grandchildren, David Baker III, Kyrie Baker Proper and her husband, Jacob, Danielle, Rachel and Brianna Corliss, Adam Meyers, Jared Bates, Victoria Wright, Garrett and Gregory Corliss, Cody and John Adsit; two great-grandsons, Mayson Proper and Dominic Wright; sisters, Dorothy Bailey and Cindy Kline; and a brother, William Corliss.

He was preceded in death by both parents; a grandson, Dustin Baker; sisters, Marion Gray, Edith Roberts and Jean Hamilton; brother, Robert Corliss; a brother-in-law, Robert Bailey; and a niece, Kathy Koffman.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Dickson Funeral Home, 130 N. Second St., Conneaut Lake.

The funeral will be at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m., with Pastor Marshall Lille of Hospice officiating.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.

The family wishes to thank Dr. McGlinn, Marianna and those at the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, Stacy and those of VNA and Hospice of Crawford County, Jean, Lori, Dick, Karen, Mindy, Amy, Tonya and Tena for their compassionate care given to Charles.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the family in care of the funeral home.

Arrangements are in the care of Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory,130 N. Second St., Conneaut Lake, Rocco R. Tedesco III, supervisor.
