CONNEAUTVILLE — Kaye D. Olson, 70, of Conneautville and formerly of Southern Pines, N.C., died Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 1, 1943, in Southern Pines, a daughter of the late Claude and Ruby Thomas Hicks. She married Olie W. Olson on March 11, 1962. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 2012.

She had been employed in retail sales, most recently at Wal-Mart of Meadville. She had also been employed at Westinghouse in Rochester.

She was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the Barbie Club, enjoyed cross stitch, crocheting, gardening and political events. She loved her dog, Rocky.

She is survived by three daughters, Donna Lewis of Conneautville, Tammy Lyne and her husband, Greg, of Pinehurst, N.C., and Sonya Guidish and her husband, Doug, of Newaygo, Mich.; five grandchildren, Lacey Conn, Kristian Holmes, Kaylon Kirk, Kat Lewis and Greg Lyne Jr.; and a sister, Nancy Hicks of Southern Pines. She is further survived by Ray and Jean Copeland, very close friends and neighbors of Conneautville.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Joanne Long; and by numerous brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
