LAKELAND, Fla. —
Betty A. Wallis, 92, of Lakeland, Fla., passed away at her home on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Baden on March 15, 1920, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Shawl. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Clarence Wallis; and a grandson, Jeffrey Wallis.
She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother to whom she devoted her life. She was a member of the United Methodist church in Townville where she was very active for many years. She also was a member of Lakewood Park United Methodist Church in Lakeland.
She is survived by her children, Allen Wallis (Dorothy) of Townville and Marion Risley (Dale) of Lakeland; seven grandchildren, Bruce Marvin, Michael Marvin (Wanda), Dale Risley and Lisa Luker (Bill), all of Lakeland, Corinne Schmid of Townville, Scott Wallis (Jennifer) of McDonald and Eric Wallis of Pittsburgh; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Auburndale, Fla.
