Donald F. Frank

SUGAR GROVE — Donald F. Frank, 86, of 8 Pleasant St., Sugar Grove, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at his residence.

Don was born July 8, 1927, in Sugar Grove, a son of the late Kenneth and Erma Wilcox Frank.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a Seabee in a construction battalion. Don started working at SM Flickengers, and then was a proprietor of the Stateline – Eriez Speedways, opening in 1956. He then went on to work at the Sanders Egg Farm and retired from the Bucket Café, where he worked for many years as a bartender.

He was a member of the Sugar Grove American Legion for 63 years, a charter member of the Sugar Grove AmVets Club, a lifetime member of Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, and lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in Sugar Grove. Don enjoyed working around the house and spending time with his family. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 42 Years, Sally Jordan Frank, whom he married at First Presbyterian Church of Sugar Grove in 1970, two sons, Tom and his wife, Kristin Abbott, of Conneaut Lake, and  Kevin and his wife, Amey Abbott, of Sugar Grove; a daughter, Cindy Sue Frank, also of Sugar Grove; eight grandchildren, Kyle Abbott, Krista Abbott, Lauren Queale, Tre’ Frank, Samara Warren, Thomas Warren, Tajah Warren and Thakari Warren; three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Eric and Kymani; two brothers, Gail and his wife, Florence Frank, of Lakewood, N.Y., and Jerry Frank of Sugar Grove; a sister, Onalee Williams of Sugar Grove; and many sisters–in-law, brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Friends and family will be received today at First Presbyterian Church in Sugar Grove from 4 to 8 p.m., and also for one hour prior to a funeral service that will be held there on Sunday at 2 p.m., with Pastor Nancy Page officiating.

Burial will be in Lottsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to First Presbyterian Church of Sugar Grove, 202 Main St., Sugar Grove, Pa. 16350.

Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St., Youngsville, have been entrusted with all arrangements. Condolences to the family may be made at nelsonfuneralhome.net.
