MEADVILLE — Elizabeth (Betty) Weber, 84, of Meadville, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

She was born Aug. 9, 1929, in Meadville, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lula (Perry) Merchbaker. She married the love of her life, Donald Weber, on Oct. 24, 1953.

Betty and her husband enjoyed traveling the United States in their RV. She also enjoyed sewing, playing cards, quilting and making crafts.

She had attended St. Brigid’s School and Meadville High School. She had been employed at the American Viscose Corp. and Montgomery Ward. She was a member of St. Brigid’s Church, Meadville.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald Weber of Meadville; two daughters, Paulette Wood and her husband, Terry, of Chardon, Ohio, and Karen Weber of Bedford Heights, Ohio; a son, Daniel Weber and his wife, Robin Kays of Linesville; six grandchildren; Amanda Porter, Brandon Wood, Christy Ping and her husband, Dave, Douglas Weber, Mitchell Weber and his wife, Jessica, and Nicole Wood; six great-grandchildren; a brother, William Merchbaker and his wife, Connie, of Meadville; and a sister, Mary Lou Hauck of Crystal River, Fla.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hilda Lindgren and Dorothy Wagner; and three brothers, Paul Merchbaker, Raymond Merchbaker and Victor Merchbaker.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville.

A Christian Burial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, with Father Johnathan Schmolt officiating.

Inurnment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Township.
