Joan R. Wolfe, 89, of 9658 Franklin Pike, Meadville, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at the home of her daughter in Huntersville, N.C., after several months of declining health.
Born in Cochranton on Aug. 30, 1923, she was a daughter of Joseph and Anna Power Hart. She married Charles J. Wolfe on Oct. 3, 1959; he preceded her in death.
Joan worked for several years at the Viscose plant before becoming a full-time homemaker in 1962. She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church and counted the American Cancer Society and the Humane Society as her main charitable donations.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Lorance and her husband, Malcolm, of Huntersville; two granddaughters, Courtney Lorance and Jennifer Abreu; four great-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Richard and Sue Hart of New Castle and Glenn and Betty Hart of Grove City; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service for Joan will be at Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton, on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.
