Grace Galle Lysowski

ERIE — Grace Galle Lysowski of Erie passed into heaven at her daughter’s home on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, when her beautiful and loving heart ceased to beat.

She was born in Toms Creek, Va., the daughter of the late Dominic and Carmella Figliuzzi Galle.

A longtime resident of Meadville, she had worked for 17 years at Talon where she was known as the Belle of Talon.

She was also a member of the Reale Club which was a group of young women of Italian descent who met monthly for more than 80 years.

She also met her husband, Raymond Lysowski, in Meadville and they were married on Nov. 3, 1951. In 1960, they moved to Erie and she began working at the D & K Store. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her wonderful pies. Grace also loved to follow sports, especially Penn State football and the National Basketball Association. She was known for her kindness and at making people feel special. She delighted in her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Frank, Ralph, John, Bruno and Nick Galle, and by six sisters, Mary Tartaglione, Elizabeth Amato, Rose Musone, Virginia Palmero, Frances Roda and Lucy Galle.

Grace is survived by her beloved husband, Raymond Lysowski, and she is the mother of Raylene Dill and her husband, Paul, of Erie, Joni Sansone and her husband, Tom, of Erie, and John Lysowski and his wife, Teresa, of Cranberry Township. She is the grandmother of Dominic Sansone of Erie, Maria Sansone Guthartz and her husband, Josh, of Santa Monica, Calif., and John (Jak), Nicholas and Megan Lysowski, all of Cranberry Township. Also surviving are many devoted nieces and nephews, including Ginger Palmero of Northfield, N.J.; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Zimmerman of Austin, Texas.

Friends are invited to call at John J. Quinn Funeral Home, 728 W. Ninth St., Erie, today from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and are invited to attend prayer services there Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Andrew Catholic Church.

Burial will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, Meadville, at a later date.

Memorials may be made to St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1116 W. Seventh St., Erie, Pa. 16502.
