Patricia Mae Wood Barretta, 77, of Meadville, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, with family by her side.
Born in Grove City on April 12, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred L. Wood and Mary I. Perry Wood. She married Benedicto Barretta, who survives.
Patricia received her education and graduated from the Saegertown schools. In her early years, she waitressed at Conneaut Lake Beach Club and at Isaly’s. She was employed in later years at FMC/Avtex Fibers, Heatrex and also at County Market grocery store. She was a long time member of the Italian Civic Club.
She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid gardener and loved cooking meals for her family, especially Italian meals. She loved her kitties and looked forward to spoiling her family at Christmas time.
She is survived by her husband, Benedicto Barretta; three daughters, Shaunna Crecraft and her husband, James, of Cambridge Springs, Belinda Baker and her husband, Craig, of Meadville, and Brenda Crecraft and her husband, Brian of Maryland; her seven grandchildren, Shane, Joe, Ashley, Chad, Seneca, Sequoyah, Lorie and two great-grandchildren, Kyler and Abagail; two sisters, Shirley Wood O’Neil of Meadville, and Joanne Wood Rice of Saegertown; many nieces, nephews and a few cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William Wood, Russell Wood and an infant, Wilfred Wood; and sisters, Florence Wood Manross, Frances Wood Shorts, Beverly Wood Leonhart and an infant, Rose Elaine Wood.
There will be no viewing hours. Private burial in St. Brigid’s Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
